Most Anticipated Releases | Summer 2017

Hey, guys! I am so excited to talk about the three books I am personally excited for that are coming out this summer. These are just the books I personally am excited for, and there are not that many this summer I am anticipating, but I am anticipating the crap out of all of these books. I just need them in my life. This summer is going to be epic in terms of reading, and I am just so freaking excited to read these! But without further ado, let’s get in the Summer book releases I am most excited for!

The first book I need in my life is, of course, Now I Rise by Kiersten White, and this comes out on June 27.

22817331

This is the second book in The Conqueror’s Saga, with the first book being And I Darken. This story is actually a gender-bent story inspired by Vlad the Impaler, who was the real life inspiration for Dracula by Bram Stoker. This is considered alternative historical fiction, which is a subgenre of fantasy, and I think this series is just so good. We follow an antiheroine who is just not a good person but she is very badass and brutal, and I just loved the first book so much, so I am so excited to get to the very anticipated sequel!

The next book I am anticipating is Because You Love to Hate Me: 13 Tales of Villainy by Various Authors, and this comes out on July 11.

31450752

This is an anthology that features many well-known YA authors who reimagined thirteen different fairytales from the villain’s point of view. This is in collaboration with thirteen different influential Booktubers who were all paired with an author to create prompts that the authors used to write these stories. This sounds like it is going to be so interesting and so good, and I am just really excited to read this when it finally comes out!

The last book I am really anticipating in Summer of 2017 is Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo, and this comes out on August 29.

29749085

This is a coming-of-age story that tells the story of Wonder Woman, but before she was the famous Wonder Woman. In this novel she is simply Diana, princess of the Amazons. She wants to prove herself to the rest of the legendary Amazon warriors, but she risks exile when she breaks the law. I am so freaking excited for this novel! I honestly wasn’t even a little bit interested in this novel until I watched the Wonder Woman movie (which was fantabulous, and I’m obsessed with it). Now I just want to know everything there is to know about Wonder Woman. I want to read all of the comics, I want to watch the movie over and over, and I want to read this book. It sounds epic and badass, and I just need this in my life like tomorrow.

And there you have it! Those were the books I am most anticipating in Summer 2017. What book are you most looking forward to reading this summer? Comment down below! I would love to know. And that is going to be it for this post today. Thank you all so much for reading this, I hope you enjoyed it, and I will see you next time!

Train Wreck by Elise Faber | BLOG TOUR

Hey, guys! I am super excited to talk about this book because it sounds so good, and I am hoping to get to it very soon. I plan on reading and reviewing it before the end of the week, so keep your eye out for that. I am very pleased to participate in this blog tour as it is my very first one. But this book is a standalone contemporary romance novel, which is exactly what I love to read in the summer, actually. This book also happens to have a “happy ever after” ending, which we sometimes don’t get in contemporaries. However, I will say this book is for mature audiences as it is not YA. If you think you are comfortable reading about steamy and sexy scenes, then I definitely recommend you check this out! But enough with the chitchat. Let’s just get into it!

Title: Train Wreck
Author: Elise Faber
Release Date: May 31, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance (standalone, happy ever after)
Editors: Kay Springsteen, Julie Sherwood
Cover Designer: Jena Brignola
Tour Presented by: TripleA Publishing Services

Synopsis:

train wreck
noun

1. A chaotic or disastrous situation.
2. An utter catastrophe or mess.
3. A devastating calamity or source of trouble.
4. Pepper O’Brien.

As the daughter of a famed film producer, Pepper O’Brien is Hollywood royalty.

Also, her life sucks.

Because, unfortunately for her, the old adage is true: money can’t buy everything—including grace, true love, or the ability to not screw up every single opportunity her life has brought her.

After her latest disaster, Pepper moves across the country to start over but, as usual, her life has other plans, namely in the form of Derek Cashette, her former teenage crush and now ridiculously handsome friend of her older brother.

Derek is determined to salvage the train wreck of her life and Pepper’s determined not to let him. Her life is her problem and, dammit, why can’t she be her own hero?

But sometimes fate has other plans. Or maybe it’s hormones. Especially when her rescuer comes with a killer smile, a chest Thor would be jealous of, and a butt that any girl just wants to—

“It was the lipstick that pushed him over the edge. Fire engine red. F*cking kissable.

He reeled her in, silky skin beneath his palms, soft curves against his chest, jasmine and vanilla in his nose.

He leaned down.

“Don’t.” A whisper. A plea.

His mouth was a centimeter from hers and those four letters painted his lips. Moist breath. Hot air. She might as well already be kissing him for how effectively that puff owned him.

“I shouldn’t,” he agreed.

“You shouldn’t.” Another breath, another chink in what was fast-becoming a non-existent resistance to Pepper.

“I want—”

“No.”

Those emerald eyes were brimming with heat, her skin was flushed, her body pressing against his.

But she’d said no.

And so he released her.

Pepper’s eyes slid closed, shuttering that warmth, and she released a shaky breath. “I can’t, Derek.”

His body was on fire, but he nodded.

Eyes opened, sadness in place of desire. The swap was a punch to the gut. “I could never be what you need.”

Gripping the shoes in one hand, Pepper turned and ran barefoot down the beach.

She was gone so fast that she couldn’t have heard him when he said, “I just need you to be you.”

Most Anticipated Releases | Spring 2017

Hey, guys! Happy First Day of Spring! I am very excited to talk about the releases I am most excited for this Spring, and ironically, all of these are being released in May. With that said, there are some releases I left off of here, and I may have not included some releases because I am not excited for them or if its a sequel, I have not read the first book. So please understand that some of the releases you are excited for may not be on this list. But with that said, let’s go ahead and get into these book releases!

The first book I am really excited for is Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han, and this comes out on May 2.

30312860

This book is the third and final book in the To All the Boys I Loved Before trilogy. This series was originally a duology, but enough fans requested another book that she decided to write one. But this series is a contemporary series that follows Lara Jean, a teenage girl who has written these deeply personal love letters to these guys that she has loved, and then one day they are sent out to those boys. Its a really cute and funny series, and I am very excited to see where Jenny Han takes the series with this third book.

The next book I am really anticipating is A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas, and this also comes out on May 2.

23766634

This is the third and final book in her fabulous A Court of Thorns and Roses series. This is a series of retellings (they all follow the same characters, so it is necessary to read them consecutively), with the first book being a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and the second one being a retelling of Hades and Persephone. This series has magic and strong female characters and fae, and it is just so badass and I love it so much. I have already preordered this, and I am so excited (and very nervous) to see how Sarah concludes this series. I am sure this is going to be an explosive finale, and I am just really anticipating this. This is arguably the most anticipated book on this list.

The next book I am excited to get to is The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan, and this comes out on May 2 as well (This is a really popular day for book releases, apparently…)

30145666

This is the second book in The Trials of Apollo series, and while I wasn’t blown away by the first book, I definitely still want to continue on with the series. This is a series that follows the god Apollo who has pissed off his father Zeus, so Zeus casts him out of Olympus and curses him to live as a normal, ordinary teenage boy. That is more like the bare bones of the premise, but saying more would spoil things. I did enjoy the last book. The humor was on point, and I am excited to see where Rick takes the story with this next installment to the series.

The next book I am really excited for is The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich, and this comes out on May 16.

31145148

This is the first book in a series that has a really interesting premise. So there is this secret organization that cultivates teenage spies known as Love Interests. There are two Love Interests assigned to the same girl who is really important to the organization. Cade is a Nice, meaning he is like the guy next door while Dylan is a Bad, meaning he’s a brooding, sexy bad boy. They are both competing for her heart because whoever she does not choose will die. It sounds so compelling, and I actually am getting vibes from the synopsis that the boys might end up falling for each other, and I am here for it! I am all for more diverse reads in the YA book world.

The next book I need in my life is Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare, and this comes out on May 23.

30312891

This is the second book in The Dark Artifices series, and I am so freaking excited for this book. The last book ended on a crazy cliffhanger, and I just really need this book in my life. This is a series that is set in the Shadow World and occurs five years after the events of City of Heavenly Fire. In this series, we follow Emma Carstairs, a girl whose mother and father were murdered, and no one really knows who did it. So in the book, she is trying to figure out what happened, and she also falls in love with her parabatai, Julian, which is a huge thing that you aren’t supposed to do, and that could result in the both of them getting stripped of their Marks if anyone finds out. But this second book is the book I have needed ever since I finished Lady Midnight, and I am just so excited to see where Cassie takes the series in this installment.

And the last book I am anticipating in Spring 2017 is When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon, and this book comes out on May 30.

28458598

This is a contemporary novel featuring a person of color, so its diverse, and I have been hearing nothing but raving reviews about it. This book follows two Indian-American teens whose parents have arranged for them to be married. That’s the basis of the story line. Its supposedly hilarious and cute, and I am so excited to read this. I have never read a book like this before, and this is also an Own Voices novel. I am just really excited to read this, and I am hoping that it lives up to the hype. I just need this in my life right now.

And there you have it! Those were all the books I am most anticipating this Spring season. What book are you most excited to get to this Spring? Comment down below! And that is going to be it for this post today. Thank you so much for reading this, I hope you enjoyed it, and I will see you next time!

Most Anticipated Releases | Winter 2017

Hey, guys! I am so excited to talk about the releases coming out this Winter. I was originally just going to do a post with all of my most anticipated releases of this year, but then I realized there were way too many for one post. It would be way too long. So I am going to be doing these seasonally. But as it turns out all of my releases that I am anticipating this Winter are actually January releases and there are still quite a few of them, so let’s just go ahead and get into it!

The first book I have been anticipating reading for forever is Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken and this came out on January 3.

20983366

I am actually currently reading this novel (its fabulous and its wrecking me, but I love it; Review coming your way soonish!). Its the final book in the Passenger duology, so I can’t really talk about it. But know this series involves time travel, music, diversity (so much diversity! I love it!), an interracial relationship, captivating writing, a kickass storyline and cast of characters, and an amazing world. Its epic and I highly recommend it. This book picks up right where Passenger left off, and its so good, so you should read it. Wayfarer is such a step up from Passenger, and that one was pretty epic, so this should definitely be on your TBR.

The next book I have been dying to get my hands on is Windwitch by Susan Dennard, and this came out on January 10.

29939390

This is the second book in the Witchlands series, and I have been anticipating this one for quite a while. I read Truthwitch in February of last year, and it opened my eyes to how epic High Fantasy is. It made me fall in love with High Fantasy because the world is so gorgeously written and I just really enjoyed the characters and the kickass storyline, and I know this one will be all those things and more. This story follows two best friends who are just trying to survive, Iseult and Safiya, but Safiya has to hide her witchery because she is the first Truthwitch in a long time to come about and that is something that politicians and leaders want because it will help them. And they will do anything to get their hands on her. And this story is just a story of friendship, above anything else, magic, and love (but mostly friendship). I love it so so much and I highly recommend it because this next book is going to be fabulous, and I am so excited to get my hands on it!

The next book I am anticipating is Roseblood by A. G. Howard and this comes out on January 10 as well.

28818314

This is a modern retelling of Phantom of the Opera, and that’s literally all I needed to know. I’m sold. I need this book. I am a fan of Phantom of the Opera due to my best friend being obsessed with it, and even though I haven’t read the original work, I do still love it, and I have read more Phantom of the Opera fanfiction than I care to admit. But this book has been getting nothing but fantastic reviews, so I am so excited to read it. Also, this cover is freaking gorgeous. And I just need this in my life! Super excited about this one.

The next book I need to read (need to buy, need to read, need to have this in my life) is A List of Cages by Robin Roe, and this also came out on January 10. Seems that day is a busy one for the book community…

25613472

This is a book that I knew I was interested in because Emma of Emmmabooks on YouTube talked about how much she liked it. And then I watched her spoiler-free review, and now I just feel like its a book I need to read. It follows a boy named Adam Blake who is an aide to the school psychologist and he has ADHD. He is asked to track down a freshman who has been avoiding the psychologist and it turns out that boy was his foster brother that he hasn’t seen in five years, Julian. But as they reunite, Adam notices that Julian is keeping secrets, especially about his home situation and Adam is determined to help him. It sounds like a super powerful story, and I am so excited to read it, and see why Emma has been raving about it so much!

This next book I have been anticipating since like ever and I am so excited for its release. That book is Myths of Immortality by Raye Wagner, and this book comes out January 12.

29412228

This is a book that you all should know about because I haven’t been able to shut up about it, but this is the third book in the Sphinx series, and I am working with the author on this post, so I have been reading an e-arc of this, and I am loving it. I have taken a break from it, but my review will be up either by Friday or Monday. I am hoping to finish it before the end of the week, but I am also reading Wayfarer and have been distracted by that, so who knows what will happen. But anyway, this is a series that follows a girl named Hope who is the Sphinx (duh) and she just wants to get rid of the curse that is placed on her (which you learn about in Book 1, The Curse of the Sphinx), so she can be free to love who she wants. This is an epic tale of love, Greek gods, and one girl’s desire for free will. Its got a cast of badass characters with a kickass story line that will just leave you wanting more. Its so good, and I am so excited to see where the rest of this series will go with this book.

And the last book I am anticipating in Winter of 2017 is History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera and this book comes out on January 17.

25014114

This is a book that everyone has been talking about, and I actually haven’t read a book by Adam Silvera (though I do really like him; I’ve seen him all over Twitter and YouTube and he seems like a really sweet person), so I figured I could start with his new book. This is a book that follows Griffin, a boy who’s first love and ex-boyfriend, Theo, dies in a car accident, completely devastating him. Theo had been seeing a boy in California named Jackson, and even though they were together, Griffin had always imagined Theo would come back to him, but now that can’t ever happen. So Griffin goes to Jackson, the only person who truly knows what he is going through, but even though they do open up to each other quite a bit, Griffin continues down this downward spiral of destructive choices, and he starts to lose himself. This sounds like quite a dark story, quite an emotional one, and I am so excited to read it!

And there you have it! Those were my most anticipated releases of Winter 2017. Whats your most anticipated release of 2017? Comment down below! And that is going to be it for this post today. Thank you so much for reading this, I hope you enjoyed it, and I will see you next time.

My Most Anticipated Releases of 2016

It’s that time. Time for my most anticipated releases of 2016! Wow, 2015 flew by. These aren’t all the releases and a few of them may be out by the time this is posted, but at my time of writing this, these are the releases that I am most excited for.

January

Passenger by Alexandra Bracken (January 5)

alexandra-bracken-passenger

This book  involves time travel, but that’s all I know about it. I really just want to read this book and inhale its essence in (oh, come on. Like you’ve never smelled a book before.). I just really need this book and it will hopefully be coming in the mail next week.

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard (January 5)

21414439

Now this is a book that is mostly involved friendship, I believe, though there is some romance. Basically the central protagonist (who’s name I don’t actually know) is a truthwitch, meaning she can tell truth from lies, and people want to get a hold of a truthwitch because that would be a fabulous weapon in their arsenal and her best friend is a threadwitch, which is someone who can see the bonds between people. That’s pretty much all I know, and I really want to get my hands on this.

February

Stars Above by Marissa Meyer (February 2)

51-9b976jil-_sx331_bo1204203200_

Can we just sit back and admire how freaking gorgeous this cover is? Probably one of my all time favorites. This is a collection of short stories and novellas that Marissa Meyer has made about the Lunar Chronicles, including one that is about a wedding that takes place after Winter. I am so excited to read this.

March

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare (March 8)

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

This is my most anticipated book of 2016. It is the first book in a trilogy. I know it is five years after The Mortal Instruments and it involves Emma Carstairs falling in love with her Parabatai, Julian Blackthorn. I am sold. I was sold when I saw Cassandra Clare’s name on the book. I need to read this. I NEED IT.

Yellow Brick War by Danielle Paige (March 15)

18602406

This is the third book in the Dorothy Must Die series, and The Wicked Will Rise left me with such a cliffhanger. I need this! Because this is the third book, all I am going to tell you is the famous tagline from the first and second books: Remove the Tin Woodman’s heart. Steal the Scarecrow’s brain. Take the lion’s courage. And then- DOROTHY MUST DIE. If that doesn’t make you want to pick up this series, then I don’t know what will.

April

The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead (April 5)

27272506

I am so excited for another Richelle Mead book (because I haven’t read a book by her since Vampire Academy). From what I know, the story follows Adelaide, a countess who wants to escape an arranged marriage. So she poses as a servant and joins the Glittering Court, which turns impoverished ladies into upper-class citizens. It sounds interesting, and it is the first book in a series.

May

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas (May 3)

17927395

So there is no cover yet, but this is the sequel to A Court of Thorns and Roses. I have not read the first one yet but I will be soon. All I know about it is it is a loosely-based retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I’m sold.

The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan (May 3)

26252859

This is the first book in the Trials of Apollo series and the basic storyline is that Apollo angered his father, Zeus, so he is cast out of Olympus and forced to live as an ordinary, mortal teenage boy. I am so excited for this.

The Last Star by Rick Yancey (May 24)

16131489

This is the third and final book of the 5th Wave series, and I am so very excited for this. I will be hopefully getting to the second book soon. It’s about an alien invasion. And it is fabulous. You should definitely read this series. It is just done so well.

October

The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan

26874946

This is the second book of the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series. I have the first one, but have not read it yet. It kind of intimidates me, to be honest. And this has no confirmed cover. But this series is centered on Norse Mythology.

Well, that concludes my most anticipated reads of 2016. This list will be updated if the release date of one of the books changes or is moved to next year (God forbid; who likes waiting for books?). What are your top three most anticipated releases of this year? Please let me know in the comments!

Love You All to Luna and Back,

Allie
